Join us for an exclusive event to delve deeper into David Baverez's latest book that was sold out in 24 hours : “Welcome to the Economy of War!”
In a world where geopolitics and economics have often disregarded each other out of contempt or arrogance, the emergence of hybrid warfare demands their reconciliation. Discover David Baverez's insightful exploration of this pressing need.
2022 is a year of rupture for one generation. We are still to realise the new rules of the game as we are closing the thirty-year cycle of 1989 triggered by the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Two major events are at the origin of this rupture. One remains misunderstood – the Ukraine war – the other remains ignored – the 20th Congress of the PCC.
With two major consequences: on the economic front, the "Economy of War" replaces the "Economy of Peace"; on the geopolitical front, we are seeing the emergence of a "Planet of Chaos."
Western democracies need to adopt a new ESG: "Energy, Security, War." Western populations need to rebuild a social contract based around core values favoring the youth as opposed to the elderly.
China, as the "Workshop of the World," has been preparing for more than ten years for this "second Cold War"; the US has swiftly reacted since 2022, Europe is belatedly starting to wake up. Announced as the big relative loser, Europe will rebound only if governments, enterprises, and citizens succeed in inventing a new way of life post-Covid.
The "Economy of war" will involve everyone; don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights into the interconnectedness of geopolitics and the economy.
In addition, the French Bookshop Parantheses is extending a special offer to all our members and participants, allowing them to purchase the book "Bienvenue en économie de guerre!" at an exclusive price of 250 HK$.
