Club Med survey: Hong Kong residents say that travel is a good motivation to get vaccinated
Club Med, the worldwide leader in premium all-inclusive vacations for the past 70 years, revealed the results of their recent survey identifying key insights into the travel sentiments with over 1,600 respondents living in Hong Kong. The full report highlights the travel intentions and expectations amid the uncertainties due to COVID-19. The survey revealed that Hong Kong citizens are eager to restart travels.
Key findings from the survey:
- 82% of respondents have a very strong desire to travel again
- They will both book and travel as soon as travel restrictions are eased
- 50% are ready to book their vacation within 1 month and 70% of them are ready to depart within 3 months following the travel restrictions lift
- 60% of respondents will travel to any destination with a travel bubble
- 62% will take the COVID-19 vaccine if it is mandatory in order to travel
- COVID-19 has dramatically shaped their vacation choices
- Safety and hygiene have become one of the top factors in influencing the choice of vacation, whilst value-pricing is key
- Almost 60% plebiscite all-inclusive vacation packages
- 97% are ready to pay the same or more pre-pandemic for their next vacation o Family reunion becomes #1 purpose for the next vacation
- Japan tops the charts as the #1 destination for Hong Kong travelers, followed by South East Asia and the European Alps
