With a Master's in Art Direction and Communication from the ESAG Penninghen School in Paris, Marc Cansier co-founded Marc & Chantal shortly after arriving in Hong Kong for the first time in 1993. Since then, Marc has established the company’s brand consultancy services and lead the creative team in a wide range of international projects. The company has emerged as a leading cross-disciplinary brand agency, adopting a holistic approach to branding which encompasses strategic consulting, brand creation and experience design.
Marc & Chantal is headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Beijing and Kanazawa. In Europe, the company home lies in Barcelona, with a team of creative contributors spreading from London to Lisbon.
Marc's role is now focused on developing the global network of partners and fostering the youthful pool of talents of the Marc & Chantal team/family. He maintains a hands-on approach to key projects while continuing to strengthen/advance the unique processes and culture at the core of Marc & Chantal's successes. Some recent note-worthy projects showcasing Marc & Chantal’s strong portfolio include Tai Kwun, the Centre for Heritage and Arts (Hong Kong), RYSE Hotel (Seoul), The Hari Hotel (London, Hong Kong), the launch campaign for West Kowloon Cultural District Performing Art Season (Hong Kong) and a brand refresh for the Four Seasons Hotel (Hong Kong).
Marc views each brand he crafts as a fictional character; he enjoys creating their rich personalities and seeing them come alive in the real world. Deeply immersed in the creative community of the city, Marc currently sits on the advisory council of Hong Kong Design Trust, plays an active role in the mentorship program of Soho House, and continuously works towards empowering youth to hone their creative talents and develop self-confidence.
