Kat is a solutions-oriented corporate counsel with 15+ years general commercial experience advising multinational companies (including start-up and early growth companies, and international exchanges) across the financial services and FinTech sectors. She currently acts as an advisor to a start-up that is building out its’ operating capabilities.
Kat is active within the FinTech community in Hong Kong and serves as a Director of the FinTech Association of Hong Kong, leading the Association’s policy and advocacy initiatives, most recently on FTAHK response to the HKMA’s consultation on the proposed regulatory regime for stablecoins and the Commerce & Economic Development Bureau’s consultation on changes to the copyright regime in light of the increased use of Artificial Intelligence. In addition to these initiatives, Kat is also serves as Board Sponsor to the Blockchain & Web3 Committee and Big Data and AI Committee.
Kat holds an LLB from the University of East Anglia, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Skills from the City University of London and is a qualified English and Hong Kong barrister. She also has a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD.
