Dr. Juergen Rahmel holds a PhD in computer science (Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks) and an MBA in International Management. He started his career with Deutsche Bank in Germany, and has worked in various IT management positions of different banks. Past roles include Head of IT for HSBC Germany, Research Director AI for the HSBC-ASTRI Lab in HK, Chief Digital Officer for HSBC Germany and most recently AI Lead in the Chief Digital Office of HSBC HK.

Juergen is a part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong on a variety of subjects in Financial Services, e.g. Banking in Web 3.0 and Generative AI for Financial Services (in the upcoming semester).
