Dr. Keith Hariman is a Specialist in Psychiatry. He started his medical school career at Imperial College, London and completed his clinical training at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He trained at Castle Peak Hospital, the mental health institute in Hong Kong with the longest history, and Queen Mary Hospital. He has worked in various fields of psychiatry, including general adult psychiatry, old age psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, substance abuse psychiatry, community psychiatry and early psychosis services. He is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Hong Kong.
He has a particular research interest on the use of technology in psychiatry, including the effects of social media on mental health and the promotion of functional recovery for patients with mental illness. He has contributed to research in local and international journals and has written chapters for textbooks published by Oxford University Press.
