Hong Kong has long been home to a large number of widely-known European designers and entrepreneurs. To take the lead in introducing new and talented European designers and their designs to the Hong Kong market, the Dutch, French, German and Swedish Chambers of Commerce had come together to launch ‘EuroPop!’
Started on November 25th, with deTour and continued thereafter during the Business of Design Week, the four Chambers of Commerce each opened their own pop-up store until December 21st. Together, they functioned as a gathering point for those who were interested in clever and innovative, as well as traditional designs. Events varying from fun and creative workshops, to knowledgeable and nurturing Q&A sessions were held throughout the EuroPop! event.
The French pop-up store was opened 7 days a week from 1 to 8pm on weekdays, and 11am to 8pm on weekends. With the objective to highlight the creative thinking of French designer brands, the French Chamber utilized the pop-up store to showcase a wide range of their collections (fashion, accessories, beauty, personal care, children, and home decoration), and increased the visibility of these French brands through different communication channels.
The French pop-up store also provided the opportunity for the French brands to better understand the Hong Kong market and their potential buyers, business partners, and customers. Meanwhile, the pop-up store was able to sell a mix of products which preserved the traditional and rich savoir-faire combined with modern design elements.
