Last night the French Chamber, in partnership with the Women's Exchange at HKEX and supported by The Women's Foundation and The University of Hong Kong, celebrated International Women’s Day with a conference in support of the global United Nations initiative, HeForShe.

The evening brought together 180 guests to hear from male and female leaders from the public and private sectors to explore inclusive solutions that create opportunities for women and girls around the world and champion women's advancement in the workplace.

A key driver for this initiative was to bring together both French and Hong Kongese companies to talk about the concrete solutions that could challenge the status quo in Hong Kong. As such, we had the pleasure of hearing the opening address from Mr Chung Kong Chow, Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, about how his company is fighting for the advancement of women’s rights in the workplace.

As part of the evening, C-Suite executives from 15 multinational companies and brands in Hong Kong were invited to share their views on gender diversity and inclusion in their respective organisations and industries through a video address, where they highlighted the steps that have been taken so far, and their vision for the future.

Following this series of in-depth video interviews, a panel of male business leaders explored some of the issues and best practices to drive women's professional growth and empowerment and capture the formidable business potential of gender parity.
